Perseverance and hard working are words that describe David Akers. Through difficult situations in life, David Akers knows this first hand. Prior to the NFL David Akers was cut three times before being signed to his 16 season career in the NFL. This made him the humble man he is.

There is more to Akers than just being a professional kicker in the NFL. He also serves his community by his program Kicks For Kids program which helps kids in difficult life situations to pursue their dreams. He also is committed to his faith and is now a licensed reverend, doing outreaches within his community. His faith has grown stronger due to overcoming adversity and made him a man full of character and faith.
