Youth Sunday - The 2nd Sunday of January the youth lead the entire worship service in music, testimonies and messages.
Youth Soup and Salad - The Youth host a lunch after the morning worship service consisting of salad, baked potatoes with fixin’s and several kinds of soup. All are welcome. Donations are taken to support the efforts of the youth group.
Guess Who’s Coming for Dinner - An activity where anyone can sign up to be a guest or host. The point of it is that no one knows who is coming to your home for lunch and no one knows where they are going for lunch until they get there. A great time to know others from the Chiques Congregation.
Golden Age Dinner - A meal hosted by the youth on the second Sunday of March for the seniors of the church. It is served after the worship service.
Prayer Evenings - Every 4th Monday evening of the month is designated for a time of prayer. It is at 7:00 p.m. at the church and is open to anyone who would like to pray as a group.
Home Groups - The home groups offer in-home, bi-weekly Bible studies with a variety of locations from Lititz to Elizabethtown. The home groups offer a variety of topics including book studies, video series and topical studies.
Evangelistic Services - Worship services that are held two times a year for several days starting on Sunday. The services are geared for personal renewal and evangelistic in nature.
God’s Squad - A program for kids from kindergarten to 5th grade. They meet every other Thursday evening from mid-October to March. They meet at the church at 6:45. The evening involves teaching the children about Jesus through Bible studies, making crafts, eating snacks, games in the gym and more. Junior High Group - This is for junior high age youth from 6th to 8th grade. They meet the same night as God’s Squad for Bible study. They also meet for Sunday School every Sunday morning and have a variety of activities each month of the year. Youth Group - This consists of youth from grades 9 to 12. They meet every Sunday morning for Sunday School. They also meet every other Sunday evening for Bible study. They have several activities throughout the month such as music festivals, skiing, canoeing, the beach, service projects and much more. Young Adults - A group of young people ages 18 to 30. They meet for Sunday School, Bible study and activities throughout the month. Click here to go to the Young Adult page for more details
Bible School - A program geared toward children from age 4 to junior high. It is filled with crafts, fun activities and Bible studies. It is held in June after school dismisses for the summer. Click here to go to the Children’s Ministry page for more details
Church Cleaning - A time that is set aside for the congregation to help the trustees and custodians give the church a thorough cleaning of the church facility.
Day Camp - This is for grades 1 to 6 in the summer and is held one grade per week and starts the week after Bible School. Day Camp offers Bible Studies, crafts, swimming, field trips, games and much more at no cost. The Youth Servant Sale covers the cost of the Day Camp. Children’s Day - Held on the first Sunday of June. It is geared to children and is either a musical or play during the worship service or a group that comes during Sunday School.
Senior Luncheon - A time of food and fellowship followed by an uplifting program for anyone age 60 and older.
Servant Sale - This is an auction of many things. The youth donate 5 hours of their time to the highest bidder to serve others. Items are donated and sold. Meals are donated and sold and the host determines how many they want to host. All proceeds support the Day Camp Program and Youth Group.
Family Camping - It is a time for fun and fellowship in the outdoors. Camping is done in camp sites and cabins and is held on the last weekend of July at Camp Swatara.
Thanksgiving Day Service and Meal - Each Thanksgiving there is a special informal worship service that is held from 9:00 to 10:00 in the morning. It is a time of singing and testimonies praising God and attesting to His goodness. There is a meal that follows for the community.
Food Distribution - Turkeys & hams are given to those in need for Thanksgiving, Christmas & Easter.
Christmas Eve Service – A time to celebrate the birth of Jesus. It is organized by a minister and deacon couple. That same couple is in charge of the Advent Series.
Neighbors Sharing and Caring - A program for women of all ages held every Tuesday morning from 9:00 to 10:45 from October to March. A variety of speakers and teachers lead the meetings. Child care for pre-school children is available. Click here to go to the NSAC page for more details
Music Opportunities - There are many ways to share the gift of music at Chiques. Senior choir, men’s chorus, adult hand bell choir, children’s hand bell choir, children’s choir, praise teams, accompaniment, music ministry are a few ways to contribute to the music at Chiques in praise to God.
Love Feast - A time we gather as baptized believers in Christ Jesus to remember His death for the payment of our sin. Love Feast is held on the first Saturday of May and October. It is a worship service that includes feet washing, a fellowship meal and the bread and cup communion.
2nd Day Love Feast - A meal shared by all after the worship service on Love Feast weekend. It is a meal filled with great food, salad, deserts, fellowship and laughter. A favorite meal of the year.
Harvest Sunday - A Sunday where we give from our abundance. We collect canned goods, produce from our gardens and non-perishable food to be given to Manheim Food Bank.
Church Picnic - An event on the 1st or 2nd Sunday of August in the afternoon and evening for the church family and the community. It is a time for games for the children in the afternoon and food, fellowship and music in the evening.
Home Coming - A special worship service on the 3rd Sunday of September to welcome those who once attended Chiques.
Laity Sunday - A Sunday where the Laity of the church are asked to lead the worship service on the 3rd Sunday of October.
Men’s Basketball - It is a time for men of all ages to gather together on Monday evenings throughout the year for basketball and fellowship.
Church Softball - If you like to play softball, Chiques has two teams that compete with other church softball teams. Softball is played during the summer evenings and draws a nice crowd.
Easter Sunrise Service - A time to get up real early. There is a short worship service in the cemetery as the sun comes up. This is followed by a full pancake and egg breakfast accompanied by pastries, fruit, bacon, breads and more.
