John 10:27 “My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.” Following Jesus and encouraging others to do likewise is my pleasure and a privilege as well.
Mike J. Hess
Mike was called into the free ministry at Chiques Church in November 2013, and was ordained in April 2020. He serves as the Youth Ministry Coordinator as well as the role of adoption coordinator advocate for anyone in the church that may have a heart for adopting children..
Apart from his church ministry, Mike owns and operates Hess Tent Rental LLC in Manheim, which he started in 2008. He also lives in Manheim with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Jackson and Charlotte. When he's not spending time chasing after his kids, Mike enjoys being in the woods hunting, recreational four wheeling, grilling, helping out on his parent's farm, watching baseball, and being with his wife and children.
Mike enjoys walking through life's journey together with others and looks for opportunities to lift other believers up in their faith and to engage with those who do not know Christ as their Savior. One of his favorite passages is 2 Philippians 2:3-4, "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit, but in humility consider others better than yourselves. Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others."
Mike S. Hess
Michael S. Hess is one of 6 active ministers on the ministry team at Chiques Church. He was called into ministry in 2004. Prior to his call to ministry he and his wife Denise served as the junior high directors for 22 years.

One of Mike’s passions is to encourage others to memorize the Word of God. As Psalm 1:2 states, our delight should be to meditate on His law day and night so that we will be strong like a tree that is firmly planted and immovable. Mike’s favorite passage is Psalm 103 because in it we see God’s love and patience for all mankind. In addition we also see that God loves to bless those who revere, honor, fear and seek Him.
